Bless the LORD my Rock!

Please Note: Baruch HaSHEM TZURI is a Jewish message and thus it contains Hebrew names and terminologies and it may not be fully understood by non Jewish readers, although the author has translated some words when they occur for the first time.

“Return again to Me, says HaSHEM (the LORD)” Yirmyahu - Jeremiah 3:1.

In the Tanach (Old Testament) the Hebrew Word “Shuv” occurs almost 8,000 times and it is translated as follows:

Return - return again - repent - turn back - be restored again, even restore and be made whole again.

We (Yisroel) are constantly called to “repent and turn” back unto *HaSHEM and cease “from all your transgressions” Yechehel - Ezekiel 18:30. For as history has proven, like all men, at times we have taken the wrong path, a path that have led our people astray. I firmly believe that we have come to a point in history for us as individuals to “return to HaSHEM” and we have to do that by the Truth of His Word as has been given to us in the Tanach.

*HaSHEM is Hebrew for “The Name” and used by orthodox Jews instead of using the Name of the LORD, “others” may use “Adonai,” which is “LORD.”

As you read this work, please have a Pentateuch Haphtorah or a Tanach (OT) at hand for reference. For only in Ha Davar Elohim (the Word of G-d) will we find the truth of what He desires to reveal to us.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

We may well ask, “Well, who is the Rock of our Salvation?” Alternatively, “Who is the Rock of Yisroel?” The answers all come directly from the Tanach (Old Testament) for only the blessed Scriptures the Word of Elohim can be the source and the guide for our search … “It is a Tree of Life to them that grasp it, and those that uphold it are made happy. Its ways are pleasant ways and all its paths are Shalom - Peace.” The prayer “Eitz Chayim.” From the Siddur – the Jewish prayer Book.

Let us look at some interesting Scriptures from our blessed Torah and other books of the Tanach!

“Know that man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of HaSHEM does man live.” Davarim – Deuteronomy 8:3.

“I will publish the Name of HaSHEM; ascribe greatness unto our G-d. He is THE ROCK, His work is perfect.” Davarim – Deuteronomy 32:3-4.

“There is none HOLY as HaSHEM? For there is none beside Thee, neither is there any ROCK LIKE OUR G-D.” 1 Shmuel - 1 Samuel 2:2.

Who is G-d, save our HaSHEM? And who is a ROCK, save our G-d.” 2 Shmuel - 2 Samuel 22:32.

“HaSHEM is my ROCK, and my fortress and my deliverer, my G-d, my strength in whom I will trust.” Tehillim – Psalm 18:2.

“And they remembered that G-d was their ROCK and the high G-d their redeemer.” Tehillim – Psalm 78:35.

“But HaSHEM is my defence and my G-d is my ROCK of my refuge.” Tehillim – Psalm 94:22.

As we have read the Words from the Tanach above, we can see that we have been clearly told that “G-d is our (that is Yisroel’s) ROCK.” Yet the Holy Scriptures also tells us that this same Rock would be an OFFENCE to Yisroel. How can I justify that statement, we again it comes directly from our own Tanach!

“Sanctify the LORD of hosts Himself; and let Him be your fear, and let Him be your dread. And He shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for A ROCK OF OFFENCE to both the houses of Yisroel, for a trap and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.” Yeshayahu – Isaiah 8:13-14.

When Yisroel cried for water in the wilderness at Rephidim (Shemos – Exodus 17:1-7), HaSHEM told Moshe to smite the ROCK and water gushed forth for them, however at Meribah a new situation came about because of Yisroel’s disobedience, but here once again the ROCK was again smitten to bring forth the water. See Bamidbar - Numbers 20:7-13.

However the question is WHO is the ROCK of YISROEL? … WHO is the ROCK of OFFENCE? … WHO is the ROCK of SALVATION? … WHO is the ROCK that was SMITTEN? Well, WHO is the ROCK from whom the waters of life flow to all who are thirsty for the things of G-d?

The answer again comes from HaSHEM’s Holy Word;

“All our fathers (Yisroel) were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, all were immersed into Moshe in the cloud and in the sea, all ate the same spiritual food (manna, etc), and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them and that Rock was Moshiach.” 1 Corinthians 10:1-4.

May He Yahushua Ha Mashiach, no longer be the ROCK of OFFENCE, for HE is the ROCK of YISROEL!

I am well aware that generally many of my Jewish brethren, you have and will not recognise Him, because we Jews have suffered so many crimes that have been committed against us in the name of “Christ” by so called “Christians.” These so called “Christians” have caused great damage to the name of Yahushua (Yeshua) the Messiah. However there are many true believers, both Gentiles and Jewish, who “worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth,” that draw their strength and inspiration from Messiah. I myself used to believe that if a Jew would accept Yahushua as the Mashiach, he would become non Jewish, a Gentile. The truth is THIS IS NOT SO! The truth is to believe in the Word of HaSHEM our G-d, blessed be His Holy Name, the G-d of Avraham, Yitzchak and Ya’akov, as given to Moshe and the prophets as written in the Tanach, cannot make a Jew un-Jewish. In fact to believe in His Word can only make us MORE JEWISH, for only then are we able to declare in TRUTH “The SIXTH PRINCIPLE” of our FAITH; “I believe with perfect faith that ALL THE WORDS OF THE PROPHETS ARE TRUE.” Indeed it is Jewish to believe in Yahushua, for you can read about Him in our Torah and Tanach!

In the freedom that HaSHEM has given us, we must choose between good and evil, eternal life or not. This is your choice NOW. Let us make recompense and accept Yeshua HaMashiach because accept Him according to G-d’s Word “our sins are forgiven” through His sacrifice! As Yeshayahu – Isaiah said in chapter 53, “He died for the iniquities of us all.” I suggest that you read all of Isaiah chapter 53! Yeshua is our, Israel’s “Messiah, our Passover (who) was sacrificed for us” 1 Corinthians 5:7. He is our Hatikvah, the Hope! Read Zecharyah 9:12, 12:10, 14:3-9.

Therefore lets us praise the LORD G-d for sending His Anointed One, our Mashiach, for He is our ROCK and our SALVATION!

Just a little about the author:

Back in 1977 this ultra orthodox Jew had a most unusual experience; considering I was the one who disliked all Christians obviously because of the persecution I and my mischboche had experienced going back to the days of the Holocaust and this continued long after we migrated to a land where we were supposed to be able to live as free people without any discrimination. I even wrote a book entitled “The Faith of the Chosen” in which there was a section that was rather anti Christian and very anti “Jesus.” However, one night in 1977, during Ma’ariv prayers at home I had an experience that changed my life forever, for I discovered from the Tanach who the Moshiach really was! It is important that I had not been spoken to by “Christians, nor had I ever read a New Testament, which would have been abhorrent, but this was a unique experience I believe with G-d and this would require a different stage to fully explain. But this young leader of the community came to; 1. Believe in Yeshua as being his Mashiach. 2. I was rejected by my beloved wife, which I know is understandable, for frankly, I would once have done just the same! 3. I was obviously blacklisted and considered as being dead by the Jewish community. In relation to those who call themselves “Christians,” I soon learned that there is a very big difference between those who call themselves “Christian” and those who are genuine people of faith in Messiah Yahushua (the name we tend to use, being the correct name in Ivrit). Our congregations uphold Shabbat and the Yom Tovim, and Torah, etc!

Other material available online or in print:

There are works available entitled “The Sixth Principle” based on the “Thirteen Principles of the Jewish Faith” by Rabbi Moses Maimonides (Rambam). As well as an article by the author that includes further writings by Rav Maimonides of blessed memory, and we should all know well that his words must be taken with great note for he was one of our greatest leaders of all time. Maimonides stated that Yeshayahu – Isaiah chapter 53 clearly spoke about the Moshiach! And we may also ask the question, well what did other Rabbis of blessed memory have to say who this chapter was speaking about. Thus - “Who was the suffering servant?” is it “The Children of Israel or our Moshiach as foretold by our prophets?

We need to listen to what Rambam and Rabbi Jonathan ben Uzziel a follower of Reb Hillel, as well as the famed Rabbi Moshe Kohen Iben Crispin of Cordova had to say and you will be surprised by their clear and decisive statements. The truth is you simply cannot dismiss these rabbis decisive conclusions!

There is one other item about ultra orthodox Chassidic rabbi of blessed memory, from Eretz Yisroel, who wrote the name of Messiah Yahushua on a small note that was to be opened by his family after his passing.

The above items are online and the links are located below! Or you may email us and we will be happy to post you printed copies, without any obligation whatsoever. Also we do not keep a database of addresses, thus we will never contact you in the future unless specifically requested.

Also read a very special study based on …

Rabbi Moses Maimonides (Rambam) “Thirteen Principles of the Jewish Faith,” based on the teachings of the Torah and the Tanach

But we will look at the - The Sixth Principle

This also includes what some of our famous Rabbis of blessed memory have said about Yeshayahu chapter 53

Many, including Rambam agree that this chapter speaks about Moshiach!
