It is obvious that from the beginning of man’s existence, Elohim
has been putting into place the details of His great plan for humanity’s
salvation. Crucial to that plan was the birth and mission of the
Messiah—the promised descendant of Dovid -

With Elohim as its
“Surely YHVH
our Elohim has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His
voice from the midst of the fire. We have seen this day that Elohim speaks with
man; yet he (Moshe -
They requested, from sheer terror of the
awesome power that Elohim manifested to them, that never again would He speak
to them directly with His own voice. From that time forward the inspired words
of Elohim’s prophets were regarded as carrying the same authority as if
Elohim were speaking to the people directly. For example, Moshe - Moses
included for being obedient to the “voice of YHVH” -
“statutes which are written in this Book of Law,” statutes given to
Israel even some 40 years after Elohim spoke at Mt. Sinai (Deuteronomy
30:10-11).
The truth of the writings of the prophets of the Tanach, being Hebrew
for the Old Covenant are accurate instructions and teachings of Elohim even for
this day, and this is confirmed in the New Covenant by Shime’on ben
Yochanan, who is better known to the churches as the Apostle Peter;
“Above all, you must understand that no
prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For
prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from Elohim as
they were moved by the Sanctified (holy) Spirit.” 2
It is in Davarim – Deuteronomy chapter 5, Moshe -
“Then YHVH heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me, and YHVH said to me: ‘I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They are right in all that they have spoken. Oh, that they had such a heart in them that they would fear Me and always keep all My commandments, that it might be well with them and with their children forever! Go and say to them, ‘Return to your tents.’ But as for you, stand here by Me, and I will speak to you all the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments that you shall teach them, that they may observe them in the land which I am giving them to possess.’” Davarim - Deuteronomy 5:28-31
The people had said all the right words. They had agreed to
Elohim’s conditions. They had committed themselves to live by all the
words that Elohim would speak to them through Moshe and the many prophets that
would come later. But Elohim knew it would take more than their promises to produce
the results He desired. It would require a change in their hearts through the
gift of the Sanctified Spirit. And sadly, for the vast majority of that would
become possible only after the Messiah had come to pay the penalty of the sins
of mankind and then it would at first only be relatively a small number, for
Messiah so clearly stated that;
Mattityahu -
“Enter through the
narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to
destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the
road that leads to life and only a few find it.” Mattityahu -
“Someone
asked Him, ‘Master, are only a few people going to
be saved?’ He said to them, ‘Make every effort to enter through
the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be
able to once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’”
YaHVaH Elohim, blessed be His Sanctified Name, gave His blessed Spirit
to a small number of selected individuals such as Noach - Noah, Avraham, Dovid
– David and many of the other blessed and faithful prophets and servants
as clearly recorded in the Tanach, the Old Covenant. The Children of Israel
sadly has shown us and the world that having righteous laws without a righteous
heart is simply not enough. Israel’s long example so sadly illustrates
this so vividly that receiving the knowledge of truth does not by itself
produce full and lasting obedience (Romans 3:9-12). However, having said this,
we must never forget that at all times there was a remnant of faithful and
obedient of
The five books written by Moshe -
Bereshis - Genesis, Shemos - Exodus, Vayikra - Leviticus, Bamidbar
- Numbers and Davarim – Deuteronomy and these books are known in
Hebrew as the Torah and thus the first letter of Tanach for this word is made
up of the various parts of the Old Covenant books! “The Torah” are
the Books of teaching or but better known as “the Law.” However,
the “Five Books of Moshe –
These books containing Elohim’s instructions to
And Moshe -
“And now, Israel, what does YHVH your Elohim require of you, but to fear YHVH your Elohim, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve YHVH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the commandments of YHVH and His statutes which I command you today for your good?” Davarim - Deuteronomy 10:12-13.
It was in the Torah that “all His ways” were first committed
to writing. These books reveal and define, as the voice of YHVH, the righteous
behaviour that is the foundation of a full and proper spiritual way of life.
Therefore, at least four decades after the giving of the Sinai Covenant, Moshe
explained again that what He wrote had indeed come from Elohim;
“Then YHVH your Elohim will make you most prosperous in all the work of your hands and in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your land. YHVH will again delight in you and make you prosperous, just as he delighted in your fathers, if you obey YHVH your Elohim and keep his commands and decrees that are written in this Book of the Law and turn to YHVH your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.” Davarim - Deuteronomy 30:9-10.
The point is beloved, that the covenant that Elohim made with the
Children of Israel was not limited to only the Words that He spoke at
The prophets became Elohim’s spokesmen. The messages they
received from Elohim were written in books for later generations and they were
to be obeyed as “the word of YHVH”
“Then the Word of YHVH came to
Yeshayahu - Isaiah: ‘Go and tell
“Then the Word of YHVH came to me, saying: ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; ‘Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.’” Yirmyahu – Jeremiah 1:4-5 – also see Yechehel - Ezekiel 6:1-3.
The same authority was later given to The Messiah’s Apostles;
“Now, Master, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your Word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the Name of Your blessed Servant Yahushua.’ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Sanctified Spirit, and they spoke the word of Elohim with boldness.” Acts 4:29-31.
Beloved, those in faith know with an absolute assurance that the
Scriptures contains the pure written Word of Elohim and in it, YaHVaH Elohim,
blessed be His Sanctified Name, promises to bless all those who obey His Word!
Close towards the end of Vayikra - Leviticus there is a long
declaration of blessings for obedience, whilst there are also curses for those
who disobey, see; (Vayikra - Leviticus 26:3-45). These blessings and curses gave
a warning to the Children of Israel not to take the Law and their
responsibilities lightly, for whenever they obeyed Elohim; they would enjoy
bountiful harvests, as well as good health, prosperity and national security
“If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. For I will look on you favourably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm My covenant with you. You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new.” Vayikra - Leviticus 26:3-10.
These benefits were obviously physical and there is a comparison of the
material blessings in Vayikra - Leviticus 26 with those cited in Davarim -
Deuteronomy 28:1-14 that reveals a crucial omission in both lists for although
YaHVaH agrees to be their Elohim and regard them as His people (Leviticus
26:11-13; Davarim - Deuteronomy 28:9), but you will note that there is no
promise of eternal life included in this covenant. The blessings found therein
are all related to what the Children of Israel could expect in their present
physical life!
Exceptions were made for those servants and prophets of Elohim who were
given the Sanctified Spirit during that time. This is confirmed by
“Of which salvation the prophets have
enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come
unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of the Messiah
which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of
the Messiah, and the glory that should follow.” 1
Beloved, we have come to what a major lesson, although the Torah does
not directly speaks of eternal life, this was left for the prophets, one of
these was Daniel the faithful and strong prophets of Elohim who remained so
faithful whilst being a servant to Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon! He clearly wrote
on the subject;
“At that time
There is no doubt that
But as we will know, in the New Covenant explanation of covenants it
was made clear that eternal life is available only though faith in the promised
Messiah (Acts 4:12), for the prophets of old looked forward in faith to the day
when Messiah Yahushua would come and would be that “sacrificial lamb of
Elohim.”.
At the time of the Sinai Covenant, obviously the Messiah had not as yet
come, thus eternal life was not offered to the people in that covenant, with
the exception of those special servants who led and taught the people in
Elohim’s ways, but even then only in the very end of days. The Sanctified
Spirit was not made available to the rest of the people. But far from the Sinai
Covenant and Elohim’s law being a burden, as sadly they seem to be so
often represented, they were bestowed on all the Children of Israel an amazing
array of blessings and benefits!
The Sinai Covenant sealed a unique relationship between the Children of
Israel and
Therefore, if they diligently kept their agreement with Elohim, they
would have become the greatest people and an incredibly blessed nation. No
other nation on earth would have enjoyed the degree of blessings and benefits
that Elohim would have given them. They would have become the showcase of
righteousness for all nations around them. As Elohim explained to them through
Moshe;
“Surely I have taught you statutes and judgments, just as YHVH my Elohim commanded me that you should act according to them in the land which you go to possess. Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, ‘Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. For what great nation is there that has Elohim so near to it, as YHVH our Elohim is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?’” Davarim - Deuteronomy 4:5-8.
Elohim’s laws define behaviour that will naturally result in
peace, safety and prosperity. If the Children of Israel obeyed Elohim to the
best of their ability, they would have reaped His loving and promised blessings
to the extent that all the neighbouring nations could have noticed that they
also might enjoy the same wonderful benefits if only they would also adopt the
faith of the Elohim of Israel and His laws. Therefore, in the next verse Moshe
challenged the Israelites to ask themselves;
“And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day?’” verse 8.
Not only were they promised abundant physical blessings, they also had
received from Elohim the world’s most fair and righteous system of
governance!
Beloved, there is always that one major limitation present in the rosy
picture we have described above and that is human natures selfish, stubborn
inclinations, which is sadly present in all human beings. Moshe explained to
the Israelites;
“Therefore understand that YHVH your
Elohim is not giving you this good land to possess because of your
righteousness, for you are a stiff-necked people. Remember! Do not forget how
you provoked YHVH your Elohim to wrath in the wilderness. From the day that you
departed from the
The truth is that Elohim did know in advance that without the gift of
His Sanctified (holy) Spirit that
Significantly, the Children of Israel were given every natural
advantage any people could desire lacking only the supernatural help of
Elohim’s Sanctified Spirit, which would have enabled them to have a
consistently righteous heart. Without a divinely changed heart, it is
impossible for any people to consistently live a fully obedient life. Although
some individuals are more law abiding than others, none has succeeded in living
without sin. That problem has been present in all peoples of all nationalities
and cultures throughout human history. Only by receiving Elohim’s Spirit
can that problem be eliminated. And not until The Messiah returns to rule all
nations will it finally be resolved worldwide.
As Shaul of
“As it is written: ‘There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks Elohim. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.’” Romans 3:10-12.
This is the lesson we must learn so we will never be tempted to think
that the Sinai Covenant was a failure. It accomplished precisely what Elohim
intended it to accomplish.
The Sinai Covenant is not the complete, final model for our
relationship with Elohim. Though it contained many permanent, eternal
principles, many of its figurative benefits, instructive as they were,
represented only symbolically the far better benefits included in the New
Covenant relationship with Elohim that was established later by Yahushua The
Messiah, the promised Messiah. As Hebrews 9 explains, the ritualism of the
covenant at Sinai;
“Now when these things had been thus prepared, the priests always went into the first part of the Tabernacle, performing the services. But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people's sins committed in ignorance; the Sanctified Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first Tabernacle was still standing. It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.” Hebrews 9:6-10.
In the Holy of Holies, the priest would carry the bowl of blood from
the animal that was sacrificed as per the law, but as we know there was a later
revision of this Sinai covenant, directly related to new blood sacrifice
related to the coming of the Messiah and His mission as was prophesised. Elohim
announced through His prophets that with this “better covenant”
He would put His laws in the minds of humanity and He would write them on their
hearts. He promised to provide at the individual level a direct access to Him
as stated in Hebrews 8 and Yirmyahu - Jeremiah 31.
“But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.” Hebrews 8:6-7.
“Behold, the days are coming, says YHVH,
when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of
Judah not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day
that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant
which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says YHVH. But this is the
covenant that I will make with the house of
I believe that I should now make
it eminently clear that Elohim was not surprised by
“So YHVH Elohim said to the serpent; ‘Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all cattle, and more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, and you shall eat dust all the days of your life. And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.’” Bereshis - Genesis 3:14-15.
Of course much later in the Sinai covenants there are other
“hints,” in the form of various ceremonies, symbols and rituals,
are woven throughout the instructions given.
The question we could ask is this; Will mankind ever whilst we are on
this earth before Yahushua returns be perfect and completely without sin and
100% righteous? Of course the simple answer to that question is NO!
For those who may have already studied the “Feasts of
YaHVaH” series online, the blessed Feast of “Shavous” or the
“Feast of Weeks” has one very special ingredient and that are the
two loaves of leavened bread that were to be baked!
Beloved, I am placing a small part of that study below, for I believe
we should understand the powerful meaning of these “two loaves of
leavened bread.”
1… Prophetically, the “two
loaves” represents Elohim gathering out from
For the faithful in
Yahushua, made up of both Hebrews and those who were Gentiles are no longer
counted as such, but as “ONE” people in Messiah, and
“ONE” in the Kingdom of Elohim! The two loaves also represent
the provision of a double portion.
Also, the Hebrews and
Gentiles in Messiah are counted as being ONE, for the two loaves were
made from the one dough, think also about the “two
witnesses,” etc, as there are always “two,” again numbers in
the Word are so important!
2. Why did the bread have to be baked
with leaven?
Prophetically the
truth is this; the believers are not as yet free from ALL leaven (sin)
in their lives! And this is true, for no we are not as yet completely free
from all sin.
The presence of
YaHVaH’s Spirit does not expel or alter sin, although through His love
and grace its power is no longer dominant, and it is restrained, but not
totally eradicated. As yet, none of us are fit to be placed on the altar for
divine acceptance, for only Yahushua our Saviour was completely without spot
and blemish when He was placed on that “tree” (stake)! Only
when Messiah returns to set up the Kingdom, will we be changed in “the
twinkling of the eye,” and only then will we be without any leaven
forever! As we have discovered from the Word, the Feasts of YaHVaH Elohim
contain a wonderful prophetic picture of …
1. The 1st.event of Messiah Yahushua on the earth.
2. His perfect sacrifice.
3. His resurrection.
4. The presence of
YaHVaH’s Sanctified Spirit in the lives of those who are part of the “Little
Flock” of the faithful in Yahushua THE Messiah!
Thus we have covered why there is still some leaven left in the faithful,
and that is why Yahushua has the blood with Him in heaven! But the problems
caused by human weaknesses and desires extended far beyond the boundaries of
the Children of Israel.
“For Elohim cannot be tempted by evil,
nor does He tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire,
he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives
birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”
This human weakness caused problems for all nations. Thus, in crafting
a permanent solution, YaHVaH Elohim, blessed be His Sanctified Name, took in
consideration the welfare of His People, but He also had a solution that would
apply in due course to all the peoples in every nation; that is, if they
would only turn unto Him in and through the Name of Yahushua THE Messiah!
As we should well remember Elohim did make the following powerful
promise to Avraham;
“I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." Bereshis - Genesis 12:3.
Before that permanent solution is made available to more than the
present “Little Flock” of truly obedient The Messianic
faithful who are given Elohim’s Spirit in this “present evil
age” (see
The Sinai Covenant given to
“No one can come to Me unless the Father
who sent Me draws him” … “Therefore I have said to you that
no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.”
Yochanan -
“Shime’on - Peter said to them,’ Repent, and let every one of you be immersed in the Name of Yahushua the Messiah for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Sanctified (Holy) Spirit.’” Acts 2:38.
Elohim did not make His Spirit generally available until after Yahushua
The Messiah gave His precious life and was resurrected in order that He could
serve as the Mediator of the New Covenant. The “Comforter,” or the
“Ruach HaKodesh – the Sanctified Spirit” was of course poured
out on that most blessed of the Feasts, that fourth Feast, we spoke about
earlier, “Shavout” – the “Feast of Weeks.” This
feast took place 50 days after the Exodus at
Beloved, as we will remember, once sin entered the Garden of Eden,
sadly Elohim delayed giving His Sanctified Spirit to mankind once they were
removed from there, but as I have said several times except to the few of His
very special servants and prophets. But His Spirit would be available to the
faithful only after Yahushua’s death at which time He became our blessed
Redeemer. That is why understanding Yahushua’s sacrificial and Priestly
roles in what is a “better covenant” that provides the means
for receiving forgiveness of sin and the precious gift of the
“Sanctified Spirit” is
so vital!
These additions are the vitally important enhancements to the Tanach,
the Old Covenant that Elohim made with the Children of Israel. They will enable
their descendants, who are slowly being gathered back to their Land, but will
be completely returned by Yahushua when He returns
“‘Behold, the days are
coming,’ says YHVH, "That I will raise to Dovid -
It will be at that time
“For if that first covenant had been faultless then no place would have been sought for a second. Because finding fault with them, He says: ‘Behold, the days are coming, says YHVH, when I will make a New Covenant with the House of Israel and with the House of Judah not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says YHVH. For this is the covenant that I will make with the House of Israel after those days, says YHVH: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be My people. None of them shall teach his neighbour, and none his brother, saying, 'Know YHVH,' for all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them. For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.’ In that He says, ‘A new covenant,’ He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” Hebrews 8:7-13.
The passage quoting Elohim’s promise of a New Covenant was of
course given in Yirmyahu -
“‘The time is coming,’
declares YHVH, ‘when I will make a New Covenant with the house of
Only a few decades after Yahushua the Messiah gave His life,
resurrected and returned unto the Father, and not long after these words were
written, the temple in
Beloved, it is true, but once Yahushua the “Messiah, our
Passover, was sacrificed for us” (1 Corinthians 5:7), all temple
ceremonies and rituals were simply no longer required. However, as Hebrews
8:10-13 so clearly told us, the spiritual laws that Elohim had included in the
Sinai Covenant were not disbanded.
However, with the Spirit of Elohim now freely available, the principles of love
that the law so eloquently expressed can finally be written in the hearts of
all who repent of breaking them. That is the central promise of the New
Covenant. Thus, it should be our desire in love of
“In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. He was in the beginning with
Elohim. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made
that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.”
Yochanan -
It is vital, beloved
that we understand at that time there had been many new laws introduced by the
priests and rabbis, and these are part of the rabbinic or man-made laws and
Yahushua abhorred these, for they were being enforced upon the Children of
Israel and
“Do not think that I came to destroy the
Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil. For truly I
say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the
smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is fulfilled.
Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches
men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and
teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say to
you, that unless your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes
and Pharisees, you will by no means enter the Kingdom of heaven.”
Mattityahu -
Tragically the vast
majority in churches worldwide simply do not comprehend the importance of those
vital words. Our beloved Messiah said that not “one jot or one
tittle” (the two smallest letters in the Hebrew script) of the law would
pass from the law until heaven and earth pass away. Since heaven and
earth have not passed away, we must understand that the law remains and
should be upheld, but in love and in faith! And Messiah condemned those who
would falsely teach men to break even the “least of these
commandments.” Rather, He explained that those who both do and teach
the blessed commandments will be called “great in the kingdom of
heaven.”
Did His
“fulfilling” the law somehow change these commands? Or did they
change after Messiah’s resurrection? No! Heaven and earth still
had not passed away at His resurrection. And we must understand what He meant
when He said that He would “fulfil” the law. Let me explain what is
meant by this.
Did Yahushua fill or
fulfil the Law? Let us first look at the Greek word used for “fulfil.”
The common Greek word
“plerosai” means “to fill.” The Greek Septuagint
translation of the Tanach, the Old Covenant by the rabbis from around the 4th
century BC, also uses this Greek word, but it originated from the Hebrew word “
However, these
conclusions are obviously not logical, nor Scriptural, in fact they completely
contradict Yahushua’s preceding statement that He did not come to
abolish, or to destroy the Law. More fundamental for translation, however, is
the question of whether “plerosai” in this verse should be rendered
“to fulfil” at all”? I think not! My personal view Scripturally
is that Yahushua came to “fill (or complete) the Law” (of His
coming) and the Messianic prophecies of the Prophets with their complete
meaning. For this reason the original Hebrew Brit Chadashah, the New Covenant
says that Yahushua came “not to abolish but to complete.” If you
carefully read the entire Sermon on the Mount, you will find that that the
subject matter of that Sermon is very much related to the keeping of the Law
and thus Mattityahu - Matthew 5:17 is generally understood as its central
theme! You will note how this chapter covers a number of the Ten Commandments
as well as other laws, and whilst our blessed Redeemer does not weaken a
single law, He does however strengthen some, such as in verses 27 to 32 where
speaks about, for example, the wandering eyes that can commit adultery just by
looking at a woman lustfully. This is followed by the matter of divorcing
his wife and should one marry another, unless he was divorced because of proven
unfaithfulness and adultery by his wife, but if this is not the case and if the
man remarries he become an adulterer! Thus, here we can see that Yahushua
makes the law even stronger and He certainly does not lessen it in any way!
“You have heard that it was said,
‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a
woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your
right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for
you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into
hell. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away.
It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to
go into hell. It has been said, 'Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a
certificate of divorce.' But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife,
except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and
anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.” Mattityahu -
In other words,
Yahushua came, as prophesied in (Yeshayahu - Isaiah 42:21), to
“magnify” Elohim’s law and to show its fullest intent and
purpose. However, what Yahushua did seek to abolish was another law being the
man-made traditions by the ancient rabbis, priests and Pharisees that had
perverted the law and burdened the people of
Yahushua’s
sacrificial death, foreshadowed by the temple sacrifices, made all animal
sacrifices and washings irrelevant for the faithful, for He was the final
Passover Lamb and the completion, His blood conquered sin forever for all who
would come to Him in faith and repent. And Praise be to
But beloved,
Yahushua’s life very clearly showed us all that the spiritual covenants,
and the Ten Commandments was and would remain relevant for all those that love
Him and in true faith seek to obey Him. One cannot properly understand His
teachings without understanding the Tanach, the Old Covenant and the law it
contains.
We need to understand
that the Tanach, the Old Covenant brings so many glorious gifts to those who
love Messiah Yahushua. One of those gifts is the Torah (Five Books of Moshe -
the Law). There is no doubt that Yahushua throughout His life lovingly embraced
the Torah of Moshe, for as we have read, “He came not to end it but to
fill it” (Mattityahu -
Indeed, Yahushua
Messiah taught from the Tanach and He lived by it as did His Apostles and
followers then and as far as we know until at least the year 400 AD, for sadly
there is no clear record of the faithful after that. However, there are known
small groups that were of the same faith made up of Hebraic backgrounds and ex
Gentiles for in Messiah a true believer can no longer be a gentile, for they are without hope and without
Elohim, thus when saved they and those of Hebraic
background become ONE IN HIM! HalleluYAH. (Read Ephesians 2:11-22).
Just to ensure we
understand when Yahushua said … “Do not
think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfil. For truly I say to you, until
heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest
letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is fulfilled.”
Beloved, when will
